Comment: Stumbled on the web site and it blew me away. Chris Edmonds picture of the gate coming from the housing area really got me...that was my room in '69 for a few months. I spent my time there (over two years)[E-3 thru E-5] in the motor pool doing office work. When I arrived at Bitburg, I was nineteen and fresh from a small Illinois town. I've always considered Bitburg and Germany as the place I 'grew up'. I have a lot of fond memories of the place...but were those some cold winters or what?

Comment: I was stationed at Bitburg AFB for 1 year. I never fit in and went though severe cultural shock when I came back to the states. I fit right in with the German culture and everything but not the Air Force. I would love to hear from anyone who knows me or anyone who just wants to converse.

Comment: Really enjoy your site. I was stationed at Bitburg 65-69. Attached to 2139th Comm Sqd. Our room was directly over the MARS station. Remember the ALERTS, beer, snow and the trips down town and to Trier. Had fun pulling maint. on base PA.. Playing "ships of Fools". Many nites in CAB of control tower, missile sites, and in the base underground command center.. ugh.
